Summary
When we learned that women are 27% less likely than men to receive bystander CPR, and thus significantly more likely to die from cardiac arrest, we were shocked, saddened, and immensely curious. We knew we had to learn more about the gender CPR gap.
Research revealed a handful of barriers to women receiving CPR: a lack of awareness of women's heart health, a discomfort with touching boobs, and deep confusion about where to put hands and how hard to press on a woman's body.
