They are often referred to as refugees and thus dehumanized, provoking a certain fear of strangers among other people, who are therefore inclined to fall back on nationalist ideas, specifically regarding the topic of national identity.

And few weeks before the French presidential election, Marine Le Pen, the far-right leader was leading in voting intentions during the first ten weeks of Presitrack (weekly poll) with a steady progression, until reaching a score of 28% on March 17.
