Social research is all about finding ways to change people's behaviour for the better. To do that, we need a deep understanding of the people we're trying to help. How do we do this when we already have lots of information, but need a new way of looking at it?
This was the challenge presented to us by Public Health England (PHE), which is an executive government agency tasked with improving the nation's health and well-being. It does this through England-wide campaigns on subjects ranging from anti-smoking to childhood obesity.
The Be Clear on Cancer campaign was created to improve the public's awareness of cancer and its symptoms in order to encourage more people to 'present' at their GP sooner (early detection vastly improves cancer outcomes).
