ABInBev: Creating an association of multi-sectoral partners to accelerate road safety in Gurugram

AB InBev, a beverages company, launched its City Pilot programme in Gurugram, India to improve road safety in the city.

Road crashes kill 150,000 people each year and are the single biggest cause of unntatural deaths of individuals in the age gruop of 15-49. They put a burden of 30% of the country's GDP Vulnerable road users affected:

  • Children
  • Cyclists
  • Pedestrians

AB InBev has been piloting on-ground interventions called City Pilots across the world in its efforts to identify test and independently measure and evaluate evidence-based interventions, in partnership with locally relevant organizations. These interventions focus on locally relevant issues like improving road safety, reducing road user vulnerability, addressing the perils of drunk driving and underage drinking, among others.
