PRINCETON, New Jersey: WPP Group's GroupM media business is one of a quartet of investors ploughing $25 million (€17m; £12m) into Invidi Technologies, which provides ad-targeting services to cable and satellite television companies.

Invidi says it can offer TV buyers the ability to deliver addressable ads, via set-top boxes, which are targeted to households based on their specific demographics and geography.

GroupM has not revealed details of its own financial contribution to the deal, but it marks WPP's latest foray into fast-emerging forms of digital media.
