Compass is the reincarnation of a long-standing audience measurement survey, providing crucial data to help the BBC serve audiences. When we originally presented our vision to transition Compass from a traditional media diary to a best-in class passive cross media measurement system, an audience of media research experts widely deemed it 'impossible'. Today, Compass is fully functioning, having a genuine impact within the BBC, with 120+ users.
