Consumers most trustful of search and traditional media, least of social

An overview of consumer trust in different media as a source of news and information since 2012.

Search engines and traditional media are the most trusted as sources of news and information, according to the latest research from Edelman. In a survey of over 26,000 internet users across 23 markets, 61% said they trust both search engines and traditional media.

Overall, search engines have consistently been the most trusted source of news and information. Since 2012, more people trusted search engines than traditional media in six of the nine years.
