Deliveries and e-sports gain in popularity in South Korea

An overview of consumers in South Korea who are trying new digital activities during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Consumers in South Korea are turning to grocery and restaurant delivery, online media streaming and watching e-sports during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. At least 30% of respondents in a McKinsey & Company survey said they are doing these activities more or have started for the first time.

Grocery delivery is the most popular digital activity, with 36% of consumers saying they are doing this more and 6% having just started. Restaurant delivery is also popular, with 39% using this more and 2% starting.

In the media category, 29% are streaming online media more and 5% have started....
