What APAC wants: Pandemic-induced changes to consumer sentiment

APAC consumer sentiment has morphed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consumer sentiment is changing rapidly across APAC, as Valencia Chia, regional senior associate for Kantar, recently pointed out at the market research company’s webinar, Voice of Opportunity – COVID-19 A Year On.

“Overall, concern levels over the pandemic have improved in 2021 across most of the markets as changes become more embedded in our lives and hopes for the vaccine become real," she said, comparing research data in nine markets (Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam) from Kantar’s April 2020 Global Barometer study, with a separate consumer sentiment survey from February 2021.
