Half of consumers use at least two SVOD services

An overview of the number of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services used by households in the United States and Western Europe.

Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) continues to attract new audiences as consumers take advantage of the multiple services available, according to data from market analysts Ampere.

The share of households in the United States and Western Europe who use at least two SVOD services has increased from one-third (34.8%) in Q3 2018 to almost one-half (47.3%) just two years later.

Ampere also suggests 'compounding' will be a key TV trend this year – with an emphasis on deeper subscriber engagement and bundling some services into packages. Aggregating content has already been attempted, with BritBox combiningBBC, ITV, Channel 4...
