The largest social platforms in Mexico have increased their reach, according to the latest data from YouGov and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Instagram saw the largest year-on-year increase, with its penetration rising from one-third (33.8%) to nearly one-half (46.0%) in 2019.
Facebook saw the second largest increase, rising from 77.5% in 2018 to 85.9%. Facebook Messenger was up from 54.1% to 61.6%, while WhatsApp managed to overtake YouTube as the second largest platform.
