Netflix added 10.1m paid streaming subscribers in the second quarter of 2020, according to the latest company reports, taking the total level to 192.9m worldwide.
This increase of 5.5% is slower than Q1 2020's rise of 9.4%, with almost the entirety of growth coming in April – suggesting any surge in viewing from COVID-19 was short-lived. The company expects to add 2.5m (+1.3%) more paid subscriptions in Q3 2020, the lowest rate of increase since 2011.
