Neste: The moment of truth

Neste, an engineering services company, encouraged policy makers not to ban combustion engines in Finland by subjecting researchers, journalists and its CEO to a lie detector test to prove there are no easy answers to the climate change debate.

The procedures and equipment of the polygraph test were real, bud due to restricted time and the wording of questions, no real analysis could be derived Prom the data. Our test subjects, however, did not know this.

With only weeks to go until the Finnish parliamentary elections, the overall discussion around climate change was running wild. On the other hand, some people said that Finland should not be concerned about climate change, others were talking about different ways to combat it. The projected government coalition parties even stated that they would ban combustion engines by 2030.
