Vivo Energy, a petroleum company, created pump boreholes and donated building materials to the community of Hiamankyene in Ghana to improve water supplies and education.

Water is life and essential to health and food production. In Ghana while some communities have free flow of potable water, unfortunately same cannot be said for others.

5.3% of the population rely on water from unprotected dug well or spring while 7.0% rely on surface water - WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Platform (JMP) 2017.

Hiamankyene, a community in the Ashanti Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region, where the Energy for water and Education project falls in the category highlighted above.
