SVOD age gap narrows as older consumers watch more

An overview of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) consumption in the UK and US by age group.

Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services are most popular with younger audiences but the activity of older viewers has caught up this year, according to data from Ampere Analysis.

In the UK, consumers aged between 45 and 54 years old recorded the largest increase in time spent watching SVOD content, rising 75.0% from 24 minutes a day in 2019 to 42 minutes this year.

Consumers in the 35 to 44 bracket are now spending over an hour watching SVOD content per day this year (one hour and nine minutes), the same level as 25 to 34 year olds were last...
