Mobile apps in the health and education categories have seen the quickest growth in downloads and daily active users during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to data from MoEngage and Apptopia.
Globally, the number of downloads of fitness apps grew by 45.7% in Q2 2020 compared to the first quarter of the year, with daily active users rising by one-quarter (24.0%). Online pharmacy apps grew by 39.0% in downloads and 11.1% in users while edtech apps were up 34.1% and 22.4% in downloads and users respectively.
