The audience for livestreamed gaming content is expected to top 700m worldwide this year, according to the latest forecasts from gaming analytics company Newzoo.
The global gaming livestreaming audience increased by 11.7% year on year in 2020 and is expected to increase by a similar 10.0% in 2021, to reach 728.8m.
Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa will drive the most growth, mainly due to the increasing popularity of mobile gaming, with double-digit growth rates forecast until 2024. This will push the worldwide audience number close to the one billion mark (920.3m) by 2024.
