One-fifth of young adults in the UK (aged 16-34) have not heard of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), according to the latest 'Understanding the Millennial Mind' report by The Exchange Lab and Populus. Of those asked, 79% said they had heard of the regulation, while 17% said they hadn't and 3% that they 'don't know'. GDPR came into force in May 2018 and gives individuals more power over how their data is collected and used, with large fines for non-compliant companies.
