Retailers planning to spend more on Facebook and Twitter advertising in 2021

Facebook and Twitter are the top social media platforms that retail companies plan to increase their advertising spend on, according to research from social advertising company Smartly.io and research company WBR Insights.

Three-quarters (76%) of retailers said they would spend more on Facebook advertising in 2021. This popularity is also true across different regions and retail segments. The report adds that Facebook attracted investment from 93% of retailers in 2020, while a WARC Data analysis shows Facebook took a 15.1% market share of global advertising.
