Tier 3 to 5 cities dominate China's gaming landscape, according to the latest research from Niko Partners.
Three-quarters (76%) of Chinese gamers are in tier 3 to 5 cities and over two-thirds (70%) of gaming revenue comes from these locations.
Overall, Niko Partners believes there are 720m gamers in China, half (48%) of which are female while one-fifth (18%) play more than 30 hours per week. Almost all (97%) of people aged 16–24 are gamers, dipping slightly to 94% for those 25–30 and 90% for those 31–35.
