Global Ad Trends: 2022 – Where is the money going?

This report summarises the latest research from WARC's Data platform, with a focus on advertising investment forecasts for 2022/23. Key findings include:
  • The global ad market saw record growth this year: Advertising investment rose by 23.8% to a total of $771bn. This was the strongest growth in WARC’s four decades of market monitoring. Further growth, of 12.5% and 8.3%, is forecast for 2022 and 2023 respectively, and the market is on course to top a value of $1trn in 2025.
  • E-commerce is set to lead growth to 2023. By the end of the forecast period, retail media is expected to be worth $137bn – double its 2020 take. E-commerce and social commerce are set to see large rises in budget allocation next...
