One-third of APAC consumers say they will visit the cinema less often after COVID-19

An overview of leisure activities in seven Asia Pacific markets after the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Cinemas and restaurants have been two of the hardest hit industries in Asia Pacific as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and this impact looks likely to continue, according to a June/July survey from GlobalWebIndex.

Across seven APAC countries, one-third (32%) of consumers say they will visit the cinema less often after the outbreak ends. This rises to half in India (52%) and the Philippines (47%) but drops to one-quarter or below in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
