UK, Media consumption overview

TV accounts for a third of total media consumption in the UK.

The average UK internet user (aged 16-64) registered daily media consumption of 11:08 hours in 2017, according to data from GlobalWebIndex. This represents an increase of 58 minutes from 2012, when consumption stood at 10:10. Of the eight media channels monitored, linear TV accounted for the most time on 02:37 in 2017, 21 minutes more than next-placed ‘other online’ (all online activity with the exception of social networking, online TV and online press which are counted separately).
