Facebook took action on 10 million pieces of hate speech content in the first quarter of 2020, according to the latest figures from its Transparency Report. This is more than double the amount in the same quarter last year.
This comes as major advertisers say Facebook is not doing enough to stop the spread of hate speech on its platforms. As a result, many have now pulled their advertising, estimated to be equal to some $21m per month in the US.
