TikTok influencer posts doubled in first half of 2020

An overview of sponsored post content on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube in the first half of 2020.

The number of sponsored posts by lifestyle influencers on TikTok in Europe and North America rose 95% in the first half of 2020, according to data from influencer management platform Traackr.

Over the same period, YouTube (-17%), Instagram (-33%) and Twitter (-65%) all saw a drop in sponsored posts.

The number of active lifestyle influencers on the short-form video platform also grew 368% in the first half of 2020, while YouTube (-16%), Instagram (-29%) and Twitter (-43%) registered decline. This follows rapid user growth for TikTok, reaching 689m monthly users in July 2020.
