Two in five Americans will only feel comfortable outside in over six months

An overview of when consumers in the United States expect to feel comfortable doing out-of-home activities in the face of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Two-fifths (38%) of Americans will only feel comfortable doing out-of-home activities in at least six months' time in the face of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to data from Morning Consult. This is true across an average of 14 activities, with just 12% of Americans feeling comfortable in the next two weeks, month or two months.

In the short-term (next two weeks, month or two months), consumers are least comfortable travelling abroad – just 6% said so. However, one-fifth (21%) said they would be comfortable to eat at a restaurant or cafe in the next two weeks,...
