UK, Cinema advertising expenditure by product category

Outlines UK cinema advertising expenditure among the top 12 product categories over the last five years.

Motors was the biggest cinema advertising category in the UK in 2016, and has been for the last three years, according to data from the AA/Warc Expenditure Report and Nielsen. The product category’s total adspend amounted to £35.7m, representing an 11.6% increase year-on-year from 2015, when adspend stood at £32.0m. In terms of spend, the sector is just ahead of the second placed category, telecoms, which generated £33.2m of advertising spend in 2016, a rise of 10.8% year-on-year.
