UK newsbrand ad income down 28.4% as tech giants promise to share wealth

Advertising income among UK newsbrands is expected to fall by over a quarter (28.4%) this year as publishers seek to diversify their revenue streams, according to data from the Advertising Association and WARC.

This comes as Facebook announces it will pay UK publishers for news content in future, with some standing to make millions from the company's concession. Google also has a similar scheme planned.
