A UK food poverty crisis has led to a rise in food bank use putting a strain on their already fragile donation system - they often receive a surplus of certain products and a perilous shortage of others.
We wanted to help.
Using technology and data we wanted to make donating food smarter and more efficient. We created the 'Sending Machine' - a digital vending machine that doesn't dispense food but sends it straight to the food bank.
Food bank stock data is collected and analysed and the Machine updates real-time, reconfiguring itself to offer the required products....
