Self-regulation: the way forward in India’s OTT media

As digital entertainment content booms both on desktop and mobile in India, industry players are navigating questions of regulation in the content sphere.

Content regulation in digital media is a hot topic in India currently, and it makes content creators – who have so far had a relatively free run – a bit wary. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting set up a panel to regulate online media so as to “delineate the sphere of online information dissemination which needs to be brought under regulation on the lines applicable to print and electronic media”, according to the Indian Express.
