At DigiCon Omni, Facebook Philippines’ Akshat Jain makes the case for brands to focus attention on enabling discovery to win over Filipino consumers.

2020 has barely concluded its last days, but the disruption posed by COVID-19 has already accelerated the growth of Southeast Asia (SEA)’s digital economy by at least five years.

“The forecasted number of digital consumers in SEA for 2025 was 310 million, but it has come much faster than expected,” said Akshat Jain, Facebook Philippines’ country lead for business growth at the DigiCon Omni virtual conference.

This is based on a Facebook-commissioned report by Bain & Company, with 310 million digital consumers representing 70% of all SEA consumers by the end of 2020 – 340 million is new 2025 forecast...
