Newborn Infant Deaths in the World
2.6 million babies worldwide die within the first two months. Deaths are 27 per thousand in developing countries and 3 per thousand in industrialized countries.
It is possible to reduce the cases of death by providing the necessary training to the mothers, clean water, disinfectant, breastfeeding, good nutrition, postnatal skin contact and the necessary technical equipment.
By 2030, it is stated that if all countries can reduce newborn mortality rates, the lives of 16 million babies can be saved.
