ByteDance accounts for 23% of Chinese digital advertising

ByteDance accounts for nearly one-quarter (23%) of Chinese digital advertising, according to the latest data from R3. This is the biggest increase in share across the largest digital leaders, up from 15% in H1 2018.

Alibaba Group was the only other company to increase its share of digital advertising revenue, rising from 31% in H1 2018 to one-third (33%) in H1 2019. As a result, the e-commerce giant is the largest digital platform by advertising revenue.
