Indonesia lags significantly behind Asia Pacific in terms of consumers avoiding crowded public places to avoid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to research conducted last week by YouGov. Just over one-third (37%) of Indonesians have taken this precaution, far below the regional average of 70%.
Avoiding crowds is most common in China, where 83% of consumers report doing so. Hong Kong follows closely behind, at four-fifths (80%). In contrast, just two-thirds (68%) of Singaporeans have avoided crowds to avoid the outbreak.
